Content Management System Design
Challenge:
Autodesk’s internal research team faced significant inefficiencies in managing content for research publications, product updates, and team newsletters. The existing system was outdated and manual, resulting in a slow workflow and lack of consistency in content submissions.
Approach:
To address these issues, I led the design and implementation of a new content management system (CMS) using Airtable, which included several complex automations to streamline the process. My approach involved:
Collaborating with key stakeholders across teams to identify specific content needs and pain points.
Building a custom Airtable database with fields for categorization, metadata, and project timelines.
Designing automated workflows to simplify content submission, review, and approval processes, reducing the need for manual intervention.
Developing training materials to ensure teams were equipped to use the new system effectively.
Outcome:
The new CMS significantly improved the volume and quality of content submissions from the entire Research organization.
Content production became more consistent and organized, leading to improved collaboration across departments and faster turnaround times for content.
Teams reported an easier, more efficient workflow, with fewer errors and delays.
